Cleaning your commercial grill

Responsible restaurant owners and managers know that a clean kitchen is essential to maintaining operations. Not only do messes present the opportunity for employee injuries, but they can also result in the build-up of bacteria and other germs that could get into your food and cause your patrons to become ill.

In order to keep your commercial grill pristine and bacteria-free, follow these helpful cleaning tips:

1. Using a rag or paper towel, wipe away all excess grease and debris while the grill is cool. Use a plastic scraping tool to deal with any particularly stubborn residue.

2. Using a commercial cleaner or a baking soda solution, use a sponge to perform a thorough cleaning on your grill top. To make cleaning easier, spray the surface thoroughly and let it stand for 15 minutes or so before using the sponge to wipe away the cleaner.

3. Rinse the surface of the grill with water after cleansing, and make sure that all traces of cleansing products are gone to avoid food contamination.

Preserving the condition of your grill will help ensure that this valuable piece of restaurant equipment is around for years to come.
