Commercial kitchen is heating up the Central Louisiana Business Incubator

A new commercial kitchen is in construction at the Central Louisiana Business Incubator in Alexandria, Louisiana, reports TheTownTalk.com. The kitchen space will be used by home bakers, caterers and other food professionals who don't have access to the essential restaurant equipment they need to move their businesses forward.

Entrepreneurs at the Central Louisiana Business Incubator will now have access to commercial ranges, commercial ovens and all manner of essential restaurant supplies that a home cook just doesn't have access to.

"We have people whose business has outgrown their home," Jerry W. Jones Jr., project coordinator, told the news source. "We have people who need help getting their products to the market. It might be that person who has a special recipe where everybody is always sneaking in to grab a cookie. Who knows, you might be looking at the next Mrs. Fields."

Delta Regional Authority is providing a $100,000 grant to finish the kitchen at the facility, which, when all is said and done, is projected to cost $2,551,264.

This project is in keeping with many recent developments intended to help entrepreneurs create new business, and hopefully new job opportunities, in today's stagnant economic climate.
