The right equipment for your new Tex-Mex restaurant

New restaurants are opening all the time. Sadly, there is something of a poor success rate for restaurants. If you want your new dining establishment to reach it's first birthday there are a few things you have to do.

Though decor and a proper menu are both very important, perhaps the most vital aspect of putting together a new eatery is having the proper restaurant equipment. If you've decided to open a Tex-Mex restaurant, there are some essentials you should consider.

A commercial oven and a commercial range are both essential pieces of equipment. To create fresh and quality food, you'll need to create much of it to order, and the easiest way to do that is with properly functioning equipment.

Consider investing in a commercial fryer as well. While many restaurants may be content to settle with pre-made items, creating your own homemade tortilla batter, and then using the fryer to create your own crunchy taco shells or tortilla chips is a great way to make your quality of food stand out.

Use the fryer again to create fun and delicious deserts. Fry a long stick of light dough and cover in powdered sugar for some crowd pleasing churros. Dunk a scoop of ice cream into funnel cake batter, and quickly fry it for a hot fluffy exterior and a cool sweet inside.

Consider adding a meat grinder to your stock of restaurant equipment as well. With a commercial eat grinder you'll be able to personally create your own taco fillings. In addition to the typical spicy beef taco, grind up lamb and add some mint for a unique lamb taco or grind pork and add some sauteed apples for a specialty taco. As a holiday treat, grind turkey and place it in a tortilla with potatoes, dried cranberries and gravy for a thanksgiving dinner.

Utilize a fleet of food processors to create various kinds of homemade salsa. A mild tomato salsa in one and in the other -  green tomatoes, chili peppers, and lime for an interesting verde salsa. Finally, blend mangoes with cilantro and lime juice for a refreshing mango version.

A salamander can be an important tool as well. Use the top down broiler to melt cheese on top of burritos or to heat the sauce you've poured over enchiladas. Don't forget to include the right smallware into your kitchen as well. A commercial cheese shredder, for example, will be very useful for the large amounts of cheese your dishes would require.
